location

Where are we going to dance?

During the workshops we will be using the beautiful and spacious ballet hall of the ACADEMY OF THEATRAL SHOWS in Wrocław at 59 BRANIBORSKA Street. The hall is equipped with bars, mirrors, ballet floor and sound system. It has everything we need for ballet. The large and bright interior will ensure the comfort of practice for all workshop participants. The hall is also air-conditioned. The location is good, close to the centre. We are already looking forward to lessons in this beautiful space, are you too?

Accompanist

During the INTENSIVE BALLET WORKSHOPS in Wrocław we will be practising to the accompaniment of live music. Anyone who has had the opportunity to take part in such a lesson will surely appreciate it, and if you haven’t had the chance yet, you will be able to try it in July during our morning lessons. We will be accompanied by Mr Stanislaw Gal, who plays during our lessons at the Wrocław Opera House and is also an inspector and tutor for the Wrocław Opera ballet.

BalLet I

This is the beginner and intermediate level. All beginners who are already taking their first steps in classical dance technique are welcome to attend this workshop. If you want to consolidate and gain new knowledge, improve your technique, build strength and stamina then come to the Ballet I class . What will we do during these classes? We will be dancing! Familiarity with pole exercises will come in handy here, as we will start with them. After the pole exercises we will go out in the middle and try our hand at Adagio, pirouettes and jumping in the Allegro section of the class. All swans are warmly welcome. Those signing up for this group should have attended ballet classes for at least a year. In addition to exercises at the bar, the lesson will also include exercises in the middle. No pointe dancing skills are required.

Balet II

This is a group for intermediate to advanced students, which means a minimum of 3/4 years of regular ballet class attendance. A very good knowledge of bar exercises is recommended. You should also have mastery of centre exercises and small and large jumps.

Pointe I and Pointe II

Lessons will focus on technical skills. We will start with pole exercises in the pointe and focus on foot articulation, strengthening the foot and building awareness of stepping on and off the pointe. After the pole exercises, there will be a section devoted to exercises in the middle. Depending on the level of the Pointy I and Pointy II lessons, there will be a variation of levels. In Pointy II, the middle section will be longer and more dynamic, focusing on balance and more difficult technical elements. Pointy I will focus more on the preparation, positioning and strengthening of the feet for pointe dancing. The pole section will be longer than the middle section.

REPERTOIRE / VARIATIONS

We will be learning a selection of ballet variations, they may be danced on pointe, but if you don't have them yet, don't worry, ballerinas can do the job too. Level I and II If you are not sure if the group is for you then email us!

Choreography at the points

The lesson is open level, but as the name suggests the whole lesson will be conducted on poinatch, so you will need suitable footwear. A minimum of 1 year of regular poinatch work. During this class we will dance and learn choreography. We will focus on danceability and musicality. We will combine elements performed on the poinatch, trying to keep the movement fluid and light.

Contemporary ballet

OPEN GROUP
In the wild discipline that is contemporary dance, we will use the concepts that each of us has picked up from ballet, we will use them as a form, as a common language to communicate to and from us. We will start the class with a warm-up, using diagonal movements in space, dancing at different levels from floor to standing. We will create a choreography that we will record during the final session. You can dress as you like! Socks, knee pads (if you have them). We will experiment! To do this, leave your fears and insecurities outside the the studio door! We will create a safe space for all, we will draw from our deepest layers to seek our pure self, vulnerable and powerful, beautiful and meaningful.

STRETCHING & CONDITIONING

OPEN GROUP/ CLASSES FOR EVERYONE
For a long time now, most dancers have known that it is the strengthening, the activation, the looking for the conscious pacing of movement that helps train the dancer's body. Building a balance in the muscles, whether between right and left or back and front, makes the body strong and the movement fluid. Therefore, a very important word in the name is CONDITIONING. A range of movement without being able to use it actively is not something our body / muscles will perceive as healthy and correct movement. Therefore, during our classes you will first of all get solidly tired, strengthen the muscles responsible for the active ranges, get to know your own body, and be able to use a greater amplitude of movement when dancing. Each exercise is explained in detail, we want you to feel what to work in your body, what to focus on, it is important to understand what is happening in your body. Strengthening the body, and working on mobilising and activating the pelvic muscles is and will be one of the most important elements. After strengthening and activating the muscles, we will focus on actively lengthening them, stretching them and looking for new and greater ranges. During the class we will use rollers, terabends, balls and ankles.
