location

Where will we dance? During the workshops, we will use the beautiful and spacious ballet hall of the THEATRE ARTS ACADEMY in Wrocław, located at 59 BRANIBORSKA street. The hall is equipped with bars, mirrors, ballet floor, and sound system. It has everything we need for ballet classes. The large and bright interior will provide comfort for all workshop participants. The hall is also air-conditioned. The location is very convenient for everyone coming from outside Wrocław, as it is close to the city center, and there are tram and bus stops on both sides of the building.

Accompanist

During the INTENSIVE BALLET WORKSHOPS in Wrocław, we will be practicing to the accompaniment of live music. Anyone who has had the opportunity to participate in such a class will surely appreciate it, and if you haven’t had the chance yet, you will be able to try it in July during our morning classes. Our accompanist will be Mr. Stanisław Gal, who regularly plays during classes at the Wrocław Opera and serves as an inspector and ballet répétiteur at the Wrocław Opera.

BALLET BEGINNER/INTERMEDIATE

Who is this group for?
For youth (14+) and adults who can proudly say: "Yes, I've survived at least one year in a ballet studio!".
If you regularly, at least twice a week, face the barre and bravely fight for every centimeter of your en dehors, then you are in the right place!
Attention, attention! If you are just beginning your adventure with ballet and your feet don't yet know what first position is – these classes would be like trying to dance "Swan Lake" in rain boots. It's definitely too early!
This group is dedicated to dancers at the beginner level (but after their first year of training!) and the intermediate level. We will work on the precision of movement, musicality, and everything that makes classical dance so magical.
What awaits you?
The barre, our best friend: We will be polishing the plié, which is the foundation of everything, as well as tendus and adagios. We promise that after these exercises, you will feel muscles you never knew you had!
Center work – time for the show! We will say goodbye to the safety of the barre and venture out into the open waters of the center floor. Here, we will work on coordination, balance, and grace.
Jumps, or how to cheat gravity: Petit allegro (small, fast jumps that will make your calves beg for mercy) and elements of grand allegro await you. You will learn how to jump lightly, quietly, and with the grace of a gazelle.
Pirouettes, turns: We will focus on a solid preparation for turns, finding your center, and technique.
We guarantee a wonderful atmosphere and plenty of mutual support (especially when you have to put on your pointe shoes for the fifth time in a week).

BALLET ADVANCED

Who is this group for?
If you can read this description without a single question mark popping into your head – this is the place for you!
We welcome dancers who:
Have been dancing regularly for a minimum of 4 years.
Attend classes at least twice a week.
Know the entire ballet vocabulary like the back of their hand. When the teacher says "fouetté rond de jambe en tournant," you just start doing it instead of looking for Uncle Google by the wall.
What awaits you?
A barre as solid as a rock: pliés to warm up every joint, battement tendu and jeté as sharp as a razor, ronds de jambe en l'air, and a slow, controlled adagio at the barre to build your strength and stability.
Center work, where the magic happens: After the barre, we'll move to the center, where gravity becomes merely a suggestion.
Center Adagio: We will work on maintaining balance in the most challenging poses, fluid transitions, and artistic expression.
Pirouettes: From stable and confident turns from 4th position to multiple pirouettes en dehors and en dedans. We'll polish the technique, strive for the perfect passé, and work on a strong spot so you don't lose your head (literally!).
Small Jumps (Petit Allegro): A series of fast, precise, and coordination-demanding jumps awaits you. From glissade-assemblé and jeté to more complex combinations like entrechat quatre or gargouillade.
Big Jumps (Grand Allegro): grand jeté, saut de chat.

4POINTE

4Pointe is a methodology for pointe work developed by Lynne Charles that builds strength, articulation, speed, stability, and a stronger connection between the dancer and the floor. All of this being done with a healthy and mindful approach.
I will be offering different Levels of 4Pointe.

Pre-Pointe Class July 25 at 13:20
For dancers looking to start pointe work soon or are new to pointe work, as well as for dancers recovering from injury. This class is done barefoot or in flat shoes. Previous basic knowledge of ballet is required.

Level 1 Class: July 25 at 14:20 and July 26 at 13:20
For dancers wanting to build a strong foundation, professional dancers coming back from injury/pregnancy/etc or dancers that are a bit rusty and wanting to get comfortable in pointe shoes again. Previous knowledge of ballet and basic knowledge of pointe work is required.

Level 2 Class: July 26 at 14:20
For intermediate/advanced dancers looking to refine the quality and articulation of their pointe work. Faster pace and more intricate versions of the Level 1 class. Previous knowledge of ballet and pointe work is required.

NEOCLASSICAL CHOREOGRAPHY

Think you've seen it all after four years of dancing? Well, what if you could give your classical technique a bit of an edge and make it speak a whole new language? Fasten your seatbelts (or rather, tie your ribbons), because our summer neoclassical choreography workshop is going to be a wild ride!
What's it all about?
This class is for you, our dear advanced dancers! It’s for those who feel that within the perfectly mastered structure of classical ballet, there's a whole ocean of possibilities waiting. Together, we will discover how to gracefully bend that structure! Shannon will show you how to find complete freedom of movement without losing an ounce of the technique you've spent years developing.
What will we be doing?
You will learn excerpts straight from Shannon Mayner's very own original choreography! This won’t be just another standard variation. This will be living, breathing movement, where you'll learn specific neoclassical tools and tricks. You'll see how your body, rooted in ballet, can tell stories in a fresh, dynamic, and surprising way.
Who is it for?
For all our battle-seasoned dancers (minimum 4 years of regular training is a must!) who are 14 years old and up.
What do we dance in? Whatever your soul (and feet) desire! Feel more confident in soft ballet shoes? Great! Want to reach new heights on pointe? Fantastic! Both options are more than welcome.

VARIATIONS I

Have you ever dreamed of dancing the roles you admire on the world's greatest stages? This summer, your dream is within reach! In this workshop, we’re tackling the absolute top tier — the most beautiful classical variations performed by prima ballerinas under the spotlights.

Who are these classes for?
For everyone (14+ and up to our most mature dancers!) who has the passion and courage to take on a legend.
Who will be your guide?
Our irreplaceable master of detail and precision, Marta Kulikowska de Nałęcz! Under her watchful eye, you'll perfect every hand gesture, every step, and truly connect with the music. You'll feel like you’re preparing for a real performance on a grand stage.
What to wear on your feet?
Soft ballet shoes or pointe shoes? We’ll start safely and comfortably in soft shoes to get familiar with the choreography. But let’s be honest — pointe shoes are the icing on this ballet cake! It’s the perfect moment to try them, even if just for the last class.
Important note!
Variations I is a dance series in three episodes! Each class builds on the previous one. So join every session! Otherwise, you might miss a key twist and end up peeking at your neighbor — and we wouldn’t want that, would we?

VARIATIONS II

Variations II is your ticket to the world of the most iconic ballet choreographies.
Who will introduce you to this world?
None other than the phenomenal Mizuno Toma, soloist at the Wrocław Opera! An active dancer whose every move is a masterpiece. You’ll get a front-row seat to observe her technique, precision, and musicality. Mizuno, though young, already has vast teaching experience and a brilliant way of sharing it. With her, every gesture, every step, every musical accent takes on new meaning.
What’s the plan?
Who is it for? For all ballet lovers aged 14 and older.
What to wear? No stress — start in soft ballet slippers to get comfortable with the choreography. But let’s be real — pointe shoes make these variations shine! So by the end of our sessions, I encourage you to try tackling them on pointe.
Important!
Variations II is a story told in parts. Each class continues the last. Join them all, so you don’t miss a detail and can dance the full, beautiful variation by the end!

CONTEMPORARY

OPEN Group
What awaits us in the studio?
Marine has prepared a dynamic and thoughtful journey for you through the world of contemporary dance. We'll start with a gentle awakening, stretching every inch of the body because, as we all know, the warm-up is sacred! Then, through floor work, we will smoothly transition to more complex dance phrases in the center of the studio. There will be turns, jumps, and some crazy (but controlled!) movement through space.
In the first part of the class, we will focus on technique, so our bodies can move consciously, cleverly, and efficiently. Then, we'll move on to guided improvisation, where we will explore various movement tasks, physical states, and emotions. We will work solo and in pairs, learning to listen to one another.
What does Marine pay special attention to?
Musicality: We will feel the music in every cell of our bodies.
Body Weight: We will discover how to use it to make our movement fluid and full of power.
Spatial Awareness: The studio will become our playground.
Listening: We will listen to our own bodies, to the music, to the space, and to our dance partners.
Marine promises to create a safe and inspiring atmosphere where each of you will feel free to discover, connect with others, and express your own unique language of movement.
In short: get ready for sweat, tons of laughter, and a profound artistic experience!

STRETCHING FOR DANCERS

Think you’ve seen it all when it comes to stretching?
Hold my plié!
Our class is a true stretching rollercoaster, made just for you — our ambitious dancers.
Who is it for?
For every Summer Intensive participant with at least a year of dance under their belt. If you know what a tendu is and don’t mix it up with a fondue — you’re good!
What’s on the agenda?
This isn’t your average “touch your toes and hold” session. Nope. This is for dancers dreaming of arabesques reaching the clouds and grand battements that stir a breeze through the studio. We’ll focus on smart, safe, and seriously effective ways to expand the ranges so crucial in classical technique.
Who will lead it?
The best part! Several of our amazing teachers will take turns leading you. Each brings their own secret methods and favorite exercises — you’ll get a whole spectrum of pro tips.
In short: if your goal is more than just flexibility — if you want true dancer flexibility — this is a must!
Get ready for knowledge, a bit of (good!) pain, and loads of satisfaction. Let’s make space for all those beautiful lines!

TRAIN LIKE DANCERS

Who are these workshops for?
For everyone! It doesn’t matter if you're just taking your first steps in the world of ballet or if you've been dancing for years but feel like something is holding you back.
If you want to:
Understand your body, its superpowers (and its little weaknesses).
Learn how to train safely and smartly to avoid injuries.
Finally say goodbye to those bad habits that annoy you in every class.
Feel what true, functional dancer's strength really means.

…then this workshop is for you!

The Train Like Dancers (TLD) Program
This Year's Main Theme: FLEXIBILITY!
This year, we're tackling what dancers love the most (or hate, but secretly dream of having!) – RANGE OF MOTION and FLEXIBILITY. We'll break this topic down into four specific lessons, each dedicated to a key body part for ballet.
Day 1 (July 21): Mission: Splits! Do you dream of a beautiful split, but your body resists? No more! On this day, we'll work on both front splits and middle splits. You'll learn how to smartly, safely, and with a smile on your face, work on deepening your range of motion. You'll discover how to cheat gravity and befriend the floor to successfully work towards your full split.
Day 2 (July 22): The Kingdom of Backbends and Beautiful Backs! The ballet cambré — a dancer's dream! Today, we focus on backbends. First hour: The Shoulder Girdle. Often, it's tight shoulders, not the lower back, that prevent us from achieving a deeper, more spectacular backbend. We'll set them free!
Second hour: Bridges. This will be about conscious work with the entire posterior muscle chain. You'll feel how your body becomes one, coordinated team, actively working towards a beautiful and safe backbend.

POINTE WORK BEGINNER/INTERMEDIATE (I)

Are your ballet slippers dreaming of becoming pointe shoes?
Who is this class for?
If you've been dancing with us (or anywhere else) for at least a year and have had the chance to put on pointe shoes at least a few times, then this is the group for you.
Who will lead this dance revolution?
Your guides to the world of pointe work will be three amazing artists and teachers:
Marta Kulikowska de Nałęcz
Mizuno Toma
Anna Kowalska (Mendakiewicz)
These three wonderful women know the pointe technique inside out, primarily from their own many years of stage and teaching experience. You will learn a whole range of exercises, secrets, and tricks from them.
What will we be doing? Our plan to conquer gravity!
Our priority is your safety, comfort, and precision. Therefore:
We will spend most of our time, especially at the beginning, at the barre. This is where we will build strength, stability, and proper habits. The barre is our best friend – it supports you, gives you a sense of security, and allows you to fully understand what the choreographer had in mind.
We will focus on solid foundations: preparing to stand on both pointe shoes, smooth transitions through demi-pointe to a high relevé, and precise articulation of the entire foot. Because in pointe work, every millimeter counts!
We will work on balance – first on two feet, and then, as you feel more confident, on one as well.
Our goal is for you to leave these classes feeling more confident, stronger, and more aware in your pointe shoes.

POINTE WORK ADVANCED (II)

Are your pointe shoes looking at you reproachfully, demanding a real challenge?
Who is it for?
We invite all advanced dancers who have at least 4 years of regular classical ballet training and a minimum of one to two years of systematic, hard work on pointe.
Who will lead you to the pinnacle of pointe work?
Prepare to meet two absolutely exceptional teachers:
Marta Kulikowska de Nałęcz
Mizuno Toma
These wonderful instructors know all the tricks, nuances, and secrets to make your pointe shoes feel like a natural extension of your legs. You will have a unique opportunity to draw from their vast experience.
What we'll be doing — our plan to conquer the world on pointe:
The Barre: This is where, in a safe environment, we will work on the absolute fundamentals, without which you can't move to the center.
Precision and Understanding: No more doing things "by feel." You will learn WHAT is really happening in your foot and leg and HOW to do it correctly.
Balance on two legs and one leg: We will discover true stability and strength.
Foot Articulation: We will move through demi-pointe and rise to the highest relevé as if gravity doesn't apply to us.
Once the barre holds no more secrets for us, we'll move to the center of the floor to face the space and our own balance!
Strength and Control: We will rise onto and descend from pointe using only the strength of our legs and feet. You will feel that power!
Balances, Arabesques, Pirouettes: You will have the opportunity to attempt and polish the most challenging elements in the spotlight.

BALLET CLASS FOR ADULTS

OPEN Group!
If you have at least a year or two of regular ballet grind behind you and you're craving more, our Summer Intensive is the answer to your dance prayers!
This will be an intense, professional adventure that will leave you feeling every single muscle you never even knew you had.
What can you expect during the classes?
Throughout our Summer Intensive, the classes will be led by different teachers. This is a truly unique opportunity to:
Explore a whole range of exercises and combinations.
Experience different teaching styles and perspectives on technique.
So, what does our class look like in practice?
A Solid Barre: We'll kick things off with a thorough warm-up at the barre that will align your body and awaken your technique. It's going to be precise, technical, and with meticulous attention to every detail.
Challenges in the Center: We'll move on to center work, where we'll tackle everything you love (and sometimes fear!). From flowing adagio that will build your strength and balance to dynamic combinations across the floor.
Time to Take Flight! Small and big jumps (petit allegro and grand allegro) are waiting for you.
Pirouettes: We will focus on solid preparation, exercises for a stable passé, and finally... get you spinning!

PROGRESSING BALLET TECHNIQUE

Open Group
What is PBT?
PBT is a revolutionary strength and conditioning program that uses large and small stability balls to help you finally FEEL which muscles should be working in every movement. It builds muscle memory, prevents injuries, and teaches your body correct alignment.
Lesson 1: The Foundations, or "Where is my center of gravity, and why was it somewhere else yesterday?"
Topic: Core stability, posture, and weight placement.
What will we be doing? We will strengthen the center of our universe – our deep core muscles. We'll discover how to consciously shift our weight to make your balances as steady as an old oak tree.
Lesson 2: "Turnout" without cheating and the elegance of devant.
Topic: Core strength, body alignment in devant (to the front), and the magic of turnout.
What will we be doing? We will continue to sculpt our "muscle corset." We'll focus on how to maintain correct hip and torso alignment in positions to the front. And most importantly – we will decode the mythical turnout. Thanks to PBT, you'll feel where it truly comes from.
Lesson 3: The power of à la seconde and flying (almost) without wings!
Topic: Core stability, body alignment in à la seconde (to the side), and jumps.
What will we be doing? We will work on pelvic stability as the leg travels to the side in à la seconde. You will feel how strength from your core translates into the height and lightness of your jumps (allegro).
Lesson 4: The secrets of derrière and spinning pirouettes!
Topic: Core strength, body alignment in derrière (to the back), and pirouettes.
What will we be doing? We will tackle what is often the most challenging part – maintaining grace and control in positions to the back (arabesque!). We'll uncover how to keep your hips "square" and avoid arching your lower back like a question mark. We will use the power of our center to turn with stability and grace.

Barre au sol (Floor Barre)

is a supporting technique and is particularly favoured by professional classical dancers. It consists of performing basic ballet exercises on the floor in a sitting or lying position. Specially prepared combinations of exercises allow you to strengthen and make more flexible individual parts of the body. During the classes special attention is paid to motor coordination, correct posture and muscle lengthening. Participants are introduced to the basic terminology of classical dance.

Ready to Dance

We present to you a class series specially designed for Dancers! Created to help you achieve better mobility and fluidity in dance – with as few injuries as possible! The training cycle will be led by MARIA SŁAWUSKA.

The foot is your first point of contact with the floor – and the first step toward better technique, stronger jumps, and safer dancing. This series offers a practical approach to strengthening it – from foundation to function. Three focused training sessions – practical tools to help you strengthen your foot, improve stability, and enhance jump dynamics without overloading the body or losing the joy of dancing:

● STRONG FOOT – we strengthen the foot from the inside out, building resilience and readiness for anything, creating strength to use it effectively in movement
● STABLE BASE – we teach how to use sensory feedback and control in every position, whether you're turning pirouettes or finishing an arabesque
● JUMP SMART – we focus on effective takeoff and landing, learning how to harness your body's energy so that jumps are dynamic, springy, and controlled – without excessive effort or injury risk

All this to help you feel control and strength in turns and jumps – and to enjoy dancing even more.
